Associate Professor Furui selected for JST PRESTO

Associate Professor Akira Furui's research proposal has been selected as a new FY2026 project under PRESTO (Precursory Research for Embryonic Science and Technology), part of the Strategic Basic Research Programs of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). PRESTO supports young researchers in pursuing unique, challenging, and internationally high-level basic research as individual-type research.

The project belongs to the research area "Foundation for Digital Spatiotemporal Expansion through the Integration of Computational and Data-Driven Sciences" (Research Supervisor: Prof. Yoshinobu Kawahara, The University of Osaka), which was launched this year. Ten proposals were selected out of 120 applications.

  • Project period: October 2026 – March 2030
